December Seminar “The X-mas Wrap “

Posted in Seminars by Mark

Next week promises to be an awesome week of training at the Dojo, the 11th-13th-16th of december, there will be some visitors from NC who will be in NY for the week, you know who they are. So if its within your ability to show up and train, do so. I will make every attempt possible to be there every night. As we move into the new year we will be changing the class scheduling/format, we will be swapping the Mon class for a reg Sat class instead, which I will attend as regulary as possible, we will still have the regular monthly open seminars, but they may be longer in duration TBD. We will also be moving the class times forward on the week day classes to allow people to get home earlier during the cold weather.

I look forward to seeing many of you next week, and if I dont, have a great X-Mas and a Happy New Year.

Remember its never to late to start back training ,so make a date and get the New Year  off to a great start. Regards and best wishes Mark

Kacem Zoughari Seminar – Redux

Posted in Seminars by Eric

Kacem and EricThanks to Darryl Ingalls and all the folks who supported Kacem’s seminar this past weekend. Mark and I attend on Saturday and there was both a great turnout (40+ people) and a great energy in the room (and it was a big room to fill!). Kacem has a comedic talent and is an exceptional budoka–so we were well taught in both word and action.

What did we study? Well, one might call it basically advanced basics done in an advanced manner. There’s a way of moving that I see from Mr. Zoughari’s approach that is pretty universal throughout those skilled and talented Shihan and budoka I have seen elsewhere and in Japan. It is an ineffable quality of movement that combines thought, deed, action, and the actual mechnical movement of the body in synchrony.

Needless to say, I look forward to Kacem’s next seminar in the area.Kacem and Mark
