Neither Beast Nor Man

Posted in Poetry by Mark

Neither beast nor man
Should be subdued by a loveless hand
But live in peaceful tranquil light
In a beautiful land

An ideal to live for
For what else remains
Oblivion beckons
Patiently bidding time
Thinking…Yours…Eventually Mine!

Spirit

Posted in Poetry by Mark

The Indomitable spirit dwells
It Seeps- It Soaks -It Swells
Indivisible by onslaught nor Time
Inseparable by church or state
Existent in a heart that remains
True to an indiscernible cause
Not yet clear-but still attainable
The spirit soars the heart lifts
And yes death is escapable
Heaven is in the hearts and minds
Of those that remain.

As often dreamt

Posted in Poetry by Mark

As often dreamt a dream of love,
A dream of bygone days,
Oft many times this image fades
evaporating with the new morns haze.

But I feel its real, from this point on,
I see a new days light,
And now I face the shimmering dawn
With my love, by my side.

Imagine

Posted in Poetry by Mark

Imagine the life I could have led
If only I would have led it,
Every step frought with dread.
My life now is almost full,
With thoughts of hope and child,
The end is as it seems,
But now I must surpass myself,
And continue as I must, till dust.

It’s not a passion I lack

Posted in Poetry by Mark

It’s not a passion I lack,
Nor a reason I desire,
My life before, lacklustre and sore.
The present, full of hope,
The joy it seems, relentless,
Then at least in suffering,
I knew no depth,
And now,
Only breadth.
