An Eagle Soars

Posted in Poetry by Mark

An eagle soars heavenward
The temporal winds unwind
And with a clammering of
Claws and squawks,
Its talons rip and beak bit
The prey torn and bloodied
Breathes last gasps and gurgles,
With an elegance only death
Can lend, to the eagles dance,
The prey it’s last breath
And the eagle its lunch…took!
